Seize this unique opportunity to get a glimpse into the everyday life of a Shanghai family.  Travel to a residential community and observe a free market where locals shop for food each day.  After a briefing at the Neighborhood Committee, participants will break into groups of eight to visit a local family to prepare and share a meal.  In the afternoon, pay a visit to an Elder Peoples’ Club to meet and converse with residents during their leisure hours when they sing and dance.  Participants are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and join in the fun!

“I loved being able to dance with the retired citizens on this trip. Some of them even had better dance moves than us!” – Madeline R. Spring 2016 Student Voyager
