Crossing 0°0°: Celebrating at the Center of the Earth

On the Fall 12 voyage en route to South Africa from Ghana, the shipboard community had the very special opportunity to reach a point in the world where few ever go: 0° latitude, 0° longitude.

Hitting 0°0° was a special moment that designated us all as “emerald shellbacks,” and as the captain blew the ship’s horn, everyone erupted in laughter, clapping and hugging one another in celebration.

Watch this student-produced video featuring commentary by lifelong learners to experience the moment with us.
