Fresh off a recent appearance on the Mel Robbins podcast, clinical psychologist Dr. Meg Jay, author of The Defining Decade and The Twentysomething Treatment, will sail on the Fall 2026 Voyage of Semester at Sea as our Scholar-in-Residence.
Dr. Jay will lead a month-long book club, host daily mentoring sessions with students, and present classroom and evening lectures, while sailing from Morocco to South Africa. For 25 years, Dr. Jay has specialized in “twentysomethings,” an often misunderstood and even maligned, age group. Her TED Talk, “Why 30 Is Not the New 20,” is among the most watched TED Talks of all time, and The New York Times recently called her the “Patron Saint of Striving Youth.”
