Exploring South Africa Through Words

Poetry relies on rich and sensuous imagery to convey meaningful experiences that have the power to evoke in us both genuine feeling and deep, often philosophical, thought. Join Semester at Sea student and Swaziland born Megan De Koning, as she walks us through Professor John Serio’s Studies in Poetry field lab at the Book Lounge in Cape Town, South Africa. Megan’s homeland is explored through poetry with the help of South African poets Liesl Jobson and Khadija Heeger.
