Fall 2017 celebrates Founder’s Day

Semester at Sea’s Fall 2017 voyage, along with the rest of the Semester at Sea community, came together to celebrate the program’s 54th anniversary this weekend. On October 22, 1963, Semester at Sea set sail as the University of Seven Seas out of New York City on its first journey around the world. Since then, Semester at Sea has brought thousands students to six different continents over 123 voyages.

The shipboard community acknowledged Founders Day with a special themed dinner and an ice sculpting demonstration by the crew. Semester at Sea alumni held events and gathered around the U.S. in celebration. Our staff participated in the commemoration of the event at the home office in Fort Collins, Colorado. A huge thanks to our alumni, donors, students and all who continue to make Semester at Sea a pioneer in global education.
