The field program “Roots of Irish Music,” led by Professor Kathleen Adams, brought a cross-section of the Summer 2014 Semester at Sea community to Ennis, in County Clare, Ireland. In a private upstairs room above Brogan’s Pub, the participants met for an exclusive session of traditional Irish music, or “Trad,” and an interactive Q&A with three well-known figures in the local music scene. Yvonne Casey plays fiddle, Josephine Marsh plays accordion, and Eoin O’Neill plays bouzouki. Lively music, discussion, and dance made for a wonderful afternoon on the west coast of Ireland!
