Slideshow: Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy in Bulgaria

During this two-day trip to Sofia, Bulgaria, ten students and a group of staff members were able to stay in the homes of US Embassy officials and staff for a rare glimpse into the life of US diplomatic personnel. They visited the embassy building, sat in on a Bulgarian parliament session during which a no confidence vote against the current ruling party was discussed, and visited the site of an ongoing dig that is uncovering walls from ancient Roman structures. Students also discuss the value of the experience over traditional travels.
