Hear From Past Voyagers

Semester at Sea is indeed a voyage of a lifetime. The passion and professionalism of the staff, the faculty, and the crew are undeniable. I will always remember the places we visited, but more importantly, the people I met, especially the students whose unbridled enthusiasm and energy were contagious.

I have always loved to travel and Semester at Sea introduced me to places and people that changed my life forever.

One of the most valuable things I took away from my experience was the relationships I made aboard the MV Explorer, some of which I continue to connect with. They were all current college students, and offered me great advice when I began my freshman orientation during the fall after my summer voyage.

Not only is it fully planned and scheduled for you, including lunch, you also don’t have to do a bunch of research online before you go because you have a guide who’s job it is to know the history of it teaching it to you. The guide teaches you in such a fun way that all you can think is how much more you want to know about the subject.

I loved the tour guide, she was excellent. It was great to have someone present for the entire field program who was able to explain the history, answer questions, and communicate with the locals to ensure a seamless experience.
